Nadia Henriksen
Nadia is a staff specialist at Herlev University Hospital and is associate professor at the Faculty of Medicine at Copenhagen University, Denmark.
Nadia has a special interest in upper GI surgery, hernia repairs and abdominal wall reconstruction. Nadia is vice president of the Danish Hernia Database and has participated in the creation of many guidelines with the European Hernia Society.
Nadia obtained her PhD degree in 2014 with research on collagen alterations in patients with hernias. Nadia’s research is a combination of registry and clinical studies focusing on improving outcomes after hernia repair and abdominal wall reconstruction. Nadia has published more than 55 original papers in peer-reviewed journals and is Speciality Advisor for abdominal wall surgery in BJS.
